Matthias Templ

Hello, I’m associated professor at the Department of Statistics and Probability Theory, Vienna University of Technology. I’m additionally employed as scientist at the methods unit at Statistics Austria, at the Palacky University of Olomouc (geoinformatics) and together with two of my colleages we do some consulting mainly to international organisations like the world bank and OECD, see data-analysis OG .
I made my diploma thesis and PhD in technical mathematics, and have made the venia legendi (habilitation) in statistics. My main research interest is in the area of imputation, statistical disclosure control, visualisation, compositional data analysis, computational statistics, teaching in statistics and cluster analysis. I participated in many European research projects, to name one of those: the AMELI project for adequate estimation of poverty and social exclusion. In the last few years more than 280 scientific contributions in scientific journals and scientific conferences originated togehter with wonderful friends and colleagues as well as more than 30 papers in well-known indexed scientific journals. One major interest is on the development of methods and software. I’m the author and maintainer of several R packages for official statistics, such as the R package sdcMicro for statistical disclosure control, the VIM package for visualization and imputation of missing values, the simPop package for synthetic population simulation, and the package robCompositions for robust analysis of compositional data, and I contributed as a co-author to many other packages.
I’m editor of the Austrian Journal of Statistics, visit http://www.ajs.or.at , so please submit a paper! :)
